The staff were friendly and the motel had a real small town feeling. It is a little bit old but you can tell they are working on improvement. A great location to stay to see this side of Nova Scotia.

Super cute place to stay, clean and cozy. The design was also stunning and breakfast was great!

Clean room friendly staff

The north end of Halifax is enjoying a renaissance and small restaurants, coffeehouses and interesting shops are plentiful. Larger buildings (condos, offices and stores) are now built where dilapidated houses once stood. It is an enjoyable area and very different from the touristy downtown. The small hotel property is split into 2 sections but not directly connected. It is a conversion from a brewery so ceilings are high. There are no elevators, so one must climb 19 steps to floor 2, and about the same to floor 3. The rooms are styled in a boutique fashion. The bed arrangement could present a problem for some: the bed is on a platform about 1 foot from the floor. It is necessary to shimmy up the bed or move on hands and knees. There are glasses, plates, cutlery and a refrigerator. While there is a 2 burner hot plate and a dishwasher there were no cooking vessels or dishwasher soap so if you need either ensure you ask. Should we back in Halifax we would stay again.
